Can you paint an LED heat sink ?
As the title states, can it be done?
What kind of paint is necessary if it can be done. Has anyone actually done it? |

You have a couple of options. In industry aluminum heatsinks are typically annodized, this allows for better glue adhesion and doesn't interfere with the thermal properties of the aluminum. It's a chemical process and you can get a nice black finish with it. You see a lot of black heatsinks already treated this way.
The other option is a high temp thermal paint like VHT FlameProof. You could get away with other options I'm sure but this is where I would start looking. HTH

Search online for DIY aluminum anodizing. Fairly easy to do but need to be careful with the chemicals.

+1 for anodizing, but I think I would find a local company to do it. Can't be too expensive.
