Eheim 1262 split into 2 or 4 outlets?

Hi there, I'm planning my upcoming tank and wondering if I should have an Eheim 1262 split 2 or 4 ways into my display tank. The tank diimensions are 48" x 20" x 20". I will probably be using 3/4" loc line, fed by a 1" return pipe(s)

I'd prefer 2 outlets, but not sure if that would be too much flow for my tank.

Thanks

i have my 1262, feeding a reactor, and 2 3/4 loc-lines in the tank, my tank is a 120 gal, 48x24x24...no problem with flow...i like the flow a little slower through sump anyway, flow in the tank is done with powerheads, or vortechs

Cool thanks. Pretty much what I wanted to do with a reactor too.

I'm not using an Eheim, but I've got a POS rio 2500 feeding up a 1", into a 1" true-wye (couldn't find a 1" into 2 3/4"s), then over the top of my tank into a locline 3/4"-1/2 wye with 4 1/2" returns with 3" flare nozzles. Flow from each of the nozzles is on the low side (100-150 gph), but it returns the water in a much more spread pattern on a 48" tank (75 gallon here). If you want I can get you pictures.

The rio 2500 is rated around 800gph at 0' head, but only around 400 at 5'. So you should get more flow out of each nozzle with a 1292 than my current setup. I have all of the nozzles about 1/2" under the water and they do nicely for surface disturbance.

This is the best pic I have of it before I filled the tank all the way. As you see the 1" pipe coming up from pump, split into 2 with a true-wye then into a 1" street-el, into a 1" to threaded 3/4" elbow, then into the 3/4" locline to 1/2" locline wye, 2 6" long pieces of 1/2" locline, then 1/2" to 3" flare nozzles.
