external skimmer help

I'm thinking of switching to an external skimmed, and I would like to what the better brands and models I should look in to. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Im not sure what the better brands are but Reef Octopus makes a good external skimmer. Im using the sro xp5000 ext on my tank and it does a great job.

More info would help How big is your tank How much room do you have. Budget What do you want to keep etc
