how many led's do i need to grow sps?
I have a biocube 29 and I want to upgrade my lighting so I can add some sps. How many would I need and how do you figure it out, I know they say 3-5 watts per gallon but led's are different. so how do you know?

Well, it depends if you choose to use optics or not, rapid led has 3w leds so the same rule can apply. Also, they have a diy biocube 29 diy led kit here http://www.rapidled.com/servlet/the-...etrofit/Detail
They also have a constant current one which means you can't dim the LEDs down. Hope this helps. |

on my bio cube, when i had it, i ran 12 3w leds with 80* optics. you can get a par38 bulb too, just wont be able to run the hood anymore.
