LPS Torch Coral HELP!!
Hey guys i am new to this. But i have a problem. I bought this torch coral at the store, and in the store it was big and full. The guy said that they dont use a lot of light so put it on the bottom. I did. And it is small and shriveled up. I test the water and the water is fine. 0 ammonium 0 nitrates 0 nitrites and 7.8 ph level. I have minimal flow on it. I am so confused. Any help would be awesome. Also any ideas on other things that could be affectin

Did you acclimate it? How long have you had it in your tank? Also calcium and alk test results would be helpful.

Yes it was acclimated and I have had it for a week or so. The water is 76 degrees and I have never had a calcium or alk test taken. Do I like buy a kit or how do I go about doing that? Could that be the problem?

Alk is from 8 to 11 normal. I think ur temp is a little low. What kind of lights are u running? I would put at bottom of tank if vho, but if ur running pc or x2 t5s that might be ur prob also. How long has tank been running.

Candy canes, mushrooms, zoanthids are all great starter corals. Keep us updated on what the tests show. What is your setup?

Thanks guys! I will post a picture. He has been moved to the bottom and i bought a new Coralife dual t5 lighting with a 10,000k and actinic blue bulbs. It has opened much more and my LFS retailer tested my water and said it was good. Also i bumped the temp up 78/79 degrees.
