Garlic is supposed to contain vit. D, which will strenghten the immune system, but from what I know/think, garlic extract that we buy doesnt have the Vit.D ! so its more for enticing fish to eat a new food, say pellets.
[they would have had VIT D all over the label if it did contain it] NLS pellets are REALLY good, they are a good mix and contain vitamine D ! so I advice everyone to try to make that their fish's main diet. when I feed nori to my tangs and angel, I enrich it with an amoni acid from brightwell, which is supposed to be the same AAs found in sponges. it has fatten up my moorish Idol and anchilles tang alot, so I advice that as well. specially for angel fish. [I have tried stopping it, and saw my idol loose wegith ! so .... ] once or twice a week I add ZOE from kent as well., let it dry and then feed the fish. frozen foods such as PE mysis are very high in proteins as well, so an excellent food. since frozen, not much will attach to it, so it will most likely wash off as soon as the mysis hits water ... I have stopped enriching those. if you raise brine shrimp and feed the tank, then try beta glucan as well, its good for fish immune system and color. I also add lipotiv from fauna marine once a week to the nori or pellets, contains carotenoids [color pigments] and marine oil. I have stopped using Selcon, after manufacturer told me the shelf life is less than 6 months after its made !!! HTH, |

I'll have to check out my bottle tonight. I don't see how anybody could use it all in a 6 month period - And if there is no way to tell when it was made (and therefore how long it sat on the LFS shelf) I would think there would be some risk to the mfg.

I normally don't buy into magic potions, but over the yrs I've used it, there might be something to this stuff (or rather its cheap enuff to overcome my usual skepticism)
I soak my food in it 1st then dump the food and whatever liquid is left into the tank |

so following NOT seeing a expiry date, and seeing how it changes color to redish over time, I sent them an email, and that was the reply I got ! I will see if I can dig up the email. Im in Canada, so most of the bottels sit in the stores shelves more than 6 months before I buy ! which makes it almost useless .... if you find more info on it, please update us Id be interested to know. |

http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod.../ReefPlus.html but its a potent product for corals. I did see some good effects on my SPS when I used to dose this back in the days [stronger colors]. better and cleaner AAs have came out since |
