is this a quiet drain/overflow piping?!?
I am looking for the most silent drain and overflow pipes possible due to tank in bedroom.
Are these pipes that came with my tank quiet? or should I be looking into some other pipes? A link would help thank you |

Ummmm... drill another hole...
You'll love this method... I set it up on my 40 breeder and it is very quiet.

Concept being linked is that a full siphon drain will have no air and as a result no noise. However it needs a backup overflow in case the full siphon can't handle the flow. That's why you'd need three holes or an over the top return (with both drilled holes as drains).
However using a lower flow return pump will also be quiet, although not dead silent as the methods linked. Personally I'm not a fan of high flow through a sump so a low flow (and low cost, low energy usage) return pump is a viable alternative for me.

Both existing holes can be used for the full siphon and the other is the emergency. Bring the retun over the top. Works great in my Marineland cube. Dead silent and darn near idiot proof.
