What to do with CUC?
I have my tank(125) set up and ready to go for the most part. I tried to start a cycle on New Year's Day by ghost feeding but I have not gotten any ammonia spike. Tomorrow I will do a nitrite and nitrate test to be sure I have cycled. I used 23lbs of dry rock and about 75lbs of LR, so I think I am cycled(10-15lbs has been in a tank with fish which have ick). I am about to add the rest of the LR I have to the fuge in my sump so I can do a cupramine treatment for ick before I sell these fish as well as do my QT procedure on the two baby clowns(will be first additions in 2 months). I assume that I should let the DT fallow for 8 weeks so the ick that was introduced via the rock dies? Being that my tank is cycled can I add my CUC to the tank? I don't have anywhere to put them now and they are in the tank that will be treated with cupramine. My lights won't be on for a month on the DT to irradicate the red bubble algae I had, should I put pieces of seaweed sheets in the DT to feed them? Then add chopped up pieces from a whole shrimp(uncooked, from a grocery store) to feed the nassarius snails? How often should I feed them? Thanks in advance!

If there's other algae in the tank besides the red bubble algae, I would think they'd be fine. You can add a piece of algae sheet once or twice a week if you think it's necessary. You can feed the nassarius a few pellets once in a while (I wouldn't chop up shrimp, too much will go to waste) or even just feed a little fish food since you'll need to keep the bacteria up anyway. They won't care whether the lights are on or not.

Thanks Sushi! There doesn't seem to be any other algae besides coralline and red bubble growing so I will feed part of an algae sheet once a week, maybe twice. I have two turbos and one of them eats a 5x5 piece in an hour. Probably will have to distract them by adding two smaller pieces. I will add pellets if the flake I am feeding doesn't get to the bottom for them.
