125G rebuild questions

So... I have a 4-5 year old tank that I recently moved from oregon to Seattle. I kept about 40Gallons of the water, and made all new RODI water. Kept all the sand and live rock. How long would you say I should wait till I put my fish back in the tank? I have heard I should wait a month from one person, and wait a couple days from others. Currently its only Live rock and sand in the tank (with water of course)

should I test everything by adding a inexpensive coral to see how it does before adding the fish?

I am still new to this even though the tank is older. I had to take a couple years off as I was living far away from the tank.

This is what it looks like right now..... Need to aqua scape, but should be doing that Wednesday night.

I think after you aquascape you should use test kits of test your water. If everything checks out you should be able to add your fish then. The bacteria keeping ammonia levels down live on the rock and sand more so than the water. So feed a pinch or two of flake food until you have scaled and test out and are ready for fish.

Same amount of time as the first time you set it up. Everything is starting over.
