t5 halide question

55 gallon aqaurium 40 gallon sump 40 gallon refugium.. all testing is perfect always is.. add alot of lime to keep ph and alk up rather new tank but have been in hobbie a long time.. so here goes.

used to run 2 96 watt pcs and 2 175 halides.. nevr had a problem..

this year started the tank back up was told 4 54 watt t5s would have same output... having a hard time believing it..

but question is.. some of the high light acros are doing great at the top of the tank.. but i lost a sunset monti and a green and yellow monti are bleaching bad... at first i thought to much light.. now i am thinking maybe not enough or the wrong spectrum.. i went and got one of each spectrum for the t5 and i was going to retrofit them into the halide hood.. so that would be a total of 566 watts over a 55 is that too much and has anyone had a similiar problem... im soo confused and frustrated
