reef keeper elite v2 with net vs neptune apex
im looking into purchasing a controller. what i haven't been able to find is what are the real differences between the reefkeeper elite v2 with net and the neptune apex? what are the possibilities for each one? can i monitor the aquarium online with each and will it email me if there is a problem? can either one handle dosing pumps and ato and can i setup a schedule for dosing? i have an aquatic life fixture that already has a timer on it...can either one of these controllers dim the lights to simulate dusk/dawn? looking for any advantages and disadvantages for each one. thanks.

Yeah. Wasn't very informative...I was looking for the possibilities of each one so I could make an informed decision.

Don't worry about him. There's always a wise apple on these boards. Though he's right about searching past threads, it doesn't mean you shouldn't post your questions at will.

I have both types of controllers My advice if you need help using these controllers, I do. Try posting half of your questions in each ones forum to see how much help you get.

I have owned both. The Apex is far less buggy, and has customer support that is leaps and bounds ahead of RK. It took a week of emails and call to Digial Aquatics to just get a RA number for a faulty problem and a total of 3 weeks to get it back. Neptune? Had a RA that same day i emailed, and the problem module fixed and in my hand in less than a week. Both are good controllers and will work well, but I will never own a DA product again.

I have a RKE and like it. I just recently upgraded to myReef and it's pretty cool being able to make changes via the PC. I don't have the net module though. Here's what my controller controls. 2 dosers Dusk/Dawn Lights Full lights Fuge light Skimmer (if skimmer cup is full, it will turn off skimmer) 2 heaters Fan for cooling ATO I also have a float switch in my ATO reservoir and it'll let me know when it's close to empty. Moonlights
