Re-introduction and Inquiries
Hi folks,
As you can see, I've been cruising these forums for a while, as I had a wonderful 55g setup about 7 years ago. I took down the system because I moved from an apartment to a home. About 6 months ago I setup a new 55g tank, and have spent this time agonizing over what to put in it. Right now it's just one sally light foot, hermit crabs, and a nassarius cruising around in the sand. Since I only have power compact lighting, I will be sticking with soft corals. On top of soft corals, I'm thinking about a lawnmower blenny just to have some more activity and keep algae under control. Any additional suggestions as far as livestock? Does anyone have any lighting suggestions? Thanks! |

More info on your system would help, but power compacts are considered sub par now a days. T5s are not much of a leap power and cost wise and greatly increase your coral keeping. But if you keep the power compacts, mushrooms should be fine as well as most leathers.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I am running an AC70 power filter rigged as a small refugium, and have a HOB eShopps skimmer. I know I can't get too enthusiastic with live stock because I don't have a sump with additional equipment, or larger refugia. For lighting, would it be better to jump from the power compacts to LEDs, so that I don't have to worry about future bulb purchases? |

If you're only wanting to keep softies you can probably get some LEDs that will do the job for a very reasonable price.
