Just starting out
Just starting out here with my first tank its a 55 gal that my friend and wife got for me for xmas. So far I have about 60lbs of live rock, with 80 lbs of sand from reefrocks.net. Up and running about 2.5 weeks. Stats are:
Temp-80 PH-8.3 Salinity-1.024 Ammonia-.25 ppm Nitrite-5.0+ ppm Nitrate-10 ppm Just cycling without anything in the tank right now, did the shrimp method only with a skimmer of course and looks like hopefully I can start adding fish soon. Thanks to aarond21 for his help. Last edited by ethorman; 01/27/2012 at 10:44 AM. |

When i cycled my 180, i used Dr Times One and Only, and added fish in 2 days 130 lb of dead rock and 160 lbs of dead sand. |

Looks like a fine start! One observation....your lights might mess with your thermostat reading.....the house might be a littler cooler then normal...but reefing requires sacrifice!
