Problems with my Pinpoint Salinity Monitor
I have calibrated it several times with the supplied 53.0 fluid, No problems there... However, when I put the sensor in my saltwater tank, it reads no more than 22.6.
Which I measure using 2 different Hydrometers and they both read 1.023 Salinity... Which should be 48.0 On the Salinity meter. IT'S WAY OFF! NOT EVEN CLOSE... What can I do, Is this defective?

Ive never had a problem with mine, I would return it, where did you buy it from? Hopefully MD, they would swap you out in no time.

I've used one of these for years. I cross reference with a refractometer.
The only trouble I've ever had is when air gets trapped inside the sensor area. It make the meter test low. Is it possible you are placing your probe where there's a return pump and you're gettingf mico bubbles or the like? HTH |
