Whats going on with my candy cane

I posted this in the LPS section but im not really getting any responses so i though id try here.

So ive had these candy canes for about 4 months now and the purple outer area is starting to turn white. THis happend before and i thought it was just too intense lighting so i put them at the bottom of my 75 gallon tank, and they began to get their original color, and this was about 2 or 3 months ago. Now they are getting pretty white, you can see in the pics. Any help on what to do would help! thanks!

my tank is a 75 gallon with 4 bulb t5 with a 30 gallon sump.
I do 10% every 2 weeks my lighting is 4 bulb t-5s, parameters are as follows:

Calcium 380-400 ppm
Carbonate hardness 125.3 ppm
Phosphate .25
Nitrate 20
pH 8
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Salinity 1.025

The euphyllia above it looks healthy so I'd doubt water chemistry or lighting level is the issue. I'd suggest flow is too high for your candy cane. I have mine in low flow and it looks awesome.

Agu, My hammer stung my candy cane almost to death. I saw a sweeper stuck to it and the candy cane's flesh was receded to almost nothing in like a day or two. I moved the candy cane (a single polyp) several inches away and it has come back nicely. How is it possible for you to keep yours so close to each other? Or do you think I had a different issue And the sweeper touching the candy cane was just coincidence?

PS> Sorry for hijacking the thread, I just saw that picture and was puzzled.

Frogspawn/hammer/euphyllia are in general pretty non aggressive. Typically your candy cane will be more aggressive. If the candy cane was being agressed I'd suspect your "hammer" is actually a "torch" coral. Torch corals are extremely aggressive and can kill any coral within several inches.

It's definitely a wall hammer (anchor shaped tentacles). I thought it was aggressive due to the sweepers it sends out. Maybe it was something else.
Thanks for the reply.
