Arrow Any way to get an anenome to move?

I just got a little rose tipped anemone, and he decided to stay on the underside of some live rock in the back lol obviously I bought him to look at so this is a problem. I tried gently coaxing him and he was pretty adamant that he wanted to stay there.

You can try pointing a powerhead at him for a night or so but they are pretty picky creatures. Obviously don't blast it with a jet stream but some increased flow in that area may be enough to make him move.

I have a GBTA and it likes the underside of a rock. They like to feel protected but they do stretch out to get some light. As a result I see the top of the nem during the day and at night it recedes under the rock.

If you really want it to move I've heard ice cubes might make it budge. Just know that it will move again if it isn't happy where it is. I would just leave it.

I moved the power head then it started disturbing everything else in the tank lol, I think i would rather have a shy anemone than a dead one.

It's like a little kid. Move it and tell it bad! And it will move right back.

I had the same problem with a pink tip. He was high up in my rock buy out the tords the back of the tank. I put a powerhead on him. It worked like a charm. If you have an air pump try putting a small air stone in there next too it. Just something too make it uncomfterable. I wouldn't try the icecube though. They don't have the tuff skinn we do and arnt evolved to go threw that. I would think the cube could burn it.

I just turned my rock around but obviously you can't do that. Block the light hitting him...he might move to find some light maybe? In my old tank I always knew when the bulbs were on their last legs as the RBTA left his rock and moved up to the bulbs.
