Aiptasia introduced in my new frags!!
Is it ok to cut the heads off?? I'm hesitant to use anything that could damage the green zoa it's hiding in.

An aiptasia will sink down into hiding when you approach it, you won't be able to cut the heads off. You're sure it's aiptasia? If so, take the frags out, put them in a container of tank water, and treat them with an aiptasia killer outside of the tank. (Joe's Juice, Aiptasia X, lemon juice)

Unless you remove the foot, they are likely to grow back. (from what I understand). A syringe with boiling water or lemon juice injected into its mouth is how I have heard to kill. Could try a peppermint shrimp, hit or miss I hear.

not likely. Even the peppermints can be iffy. I wouldn't wait on a predator to remove them. If they're not glued down yet, it will be easy to remove them before they're a problem.

A syringe with real lemon juice works pretty good. The lemon flavored flavorings not so much. |

Does petco carry something I would need? Both my LFS are lacking chemicals. They have some but not much. I'm going back for some more specimens tomorrow seeing how I only spent half my budget.

If you're on a budget try the lemon juice or hot water, they work just as well, especially if you can remove the frag from the tank. None of the petcos near me carry those kinds of chemicals, and they aren't cheap.

I'm not truly on a budget. I set a total bi-weekly budget and a daily is set from that. If I don't Ill end up dropping way too much cash each time I go. Plus it slows me down so I don't mess things up. Ill try the lemon first thing tomorrow though. I just bought some actually. Not for cooking fish of corse!
I guess I'll just add this next question to this thread. I have a really large scarlet hermit crab in my DT. Will he eat my zoas and Kenya tree??

I've always been told the scarlet reef variety were the safest. I've had one grow to be good size over the last few years, and he hasn't harmed anything. One of the nicer looking varieties, too.
