HA on snails

Anyone else have hair algae growth on snail shells and nothing else? What would call this?

Dunno.....maybe them being exposed to more areas of the tank but moving around to much for something else to eat. If the snails are the ones eating the hair algae......the only place they can't eat

LOL, yes I have & I would call it Mother Nature rocks on. Luckily they are easy to catch & clean. If you meant what would cause this, same thing that causes any algae growth, except that the snails can't get to it.
