Tiny black spots on clown.
Got him last week. He now has tiny black spots on his orange sections only. Normal?

What corals (( if any )) do you have in the tank? Is the clown attempting to be hosted by any of them?
Sometimes, when clowns attempt to be hosted by something other than an anemone they can get those black spots --- besides the looks, they are harmless.

It's probably Hypermelonization. This is typically caused by Clownfish using something other than an anemone, as a host, usually some type of LPS. It's harmless and usually disappears when the offending coral is removed, though this doesn't need to take place.

Thanks. He's bonding with the mag float glass cleaner. It's near the top of tank and he sleeps on top of it.

its funny you say it's bonding with the glass cleaner jmount. i have one that likes to sit on my glass cleaner as well when only the blue lights are on. otherwise it nests in a rock opening with my other clownfish
