Controllable Korallia Powerheads
Any one use the new "controllable" Korallia powerheads? Any thoughts on how well they work?

Also, can they be used with other "wave timers" or do they have to be used with the Koralia Wavemaker?
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the Koralia Evos would work with any timer that takes a regular plug. The controllable Koralias have a proprietary connection and you have to use Hydor's wave controller.
I just use the Evos until I can afford some really good Tunze powerheads. They work great.

Does using the evos on a wave timer making them go on and off repeatedly cause the impeller to wear out or break?

My evos are completely silent when stopping and restarting, and they won't wear out-I hope.
The older non-evo koralias wouldn't work on a timer. Also some of the first wave of evos (when they were first released) would start backwards sometimes, but I would think that by now those should all be gone and off the shelf.
