Water change after cycle?

My 120 gallon tank finished its cycle and all levels read 0 finally! I have a CUC in there and 6 chromis and 2 clowns.

I can see the water starting to get cloudy and wanted to know if it is time to do a water change? And if so how much?
Also I have not had an algae outbreak yet, is this supposed to happen? I have a mtc250 skimmer and 2 koralia pumps on the tank.

Yeah I'd do some water changes and run some carbon as well.

Don't worry on the algae and other outbreaks, they will happen over the next few months as your tank finds an equilibrium.

If it's getting cloudy yes do a water change, esp since you have fish in the tank. I'd say with a 120 gallon 10% followed by another 10% would be good. You may also want to run some carbon to help clear the water.

Typically a new tank will have a diatom bloom. It's a tan/brown dusting on the sand and rock that normally goes away on its own.

Usually people cycle with the rock, so that the bacteria can colonize it.

+1

Your tank will get a few outbreaks until its fully established, and I agree with the water changes as well.

I would do a couple of 10% water changes over the next few day. It should clear up the tank. As shaginwagon says you will get a couple of algae outbreaks over the nextrr few months while everything stabilizes.

What color is the "cloudy"?

Is it whitish in color, or greenish?
