well i have a 96x24x24 acrylic tank that not only needs a good buff on front and sides to get out minor sand scratches from previous owner but it also has a crack on the top that connects onto the back of the tank. The previous owner had it repaired with a large thick sheet of acrylic but its cracking again in the exact spot through the repair acrylic. I was curious to get someones opinion on if it can be fixed or is worth fixing. I'm thinking maybe the first repair just wasn't done correctly but idk. heres some pics of the tank and crack.
This pic you can see the large piece of acrylic on the back of the tank from the previous repair. (Tank is laying front down on a blanket)

Here you can kind of see where the crack begins on the top of the tank.

Close up of crack

As you can see it is starting to crack on the repair sheet of acrylic. The original crack that the previous owner repaired appears to have been much larger. You can see where it use to be cracked but was repaired.

I appreciate any help or advice.

The only other issue which from what i read seems to be very important was also on the top but opposite side. he cut out part of the top lip or bracing. i've read that you should always have at least 3 inches but in a section of it he removed almost all. sorry don't think I'm explaining very well so heres a picture.

what do you guys think? repairable or scrap?

sorry also should have explained as you look at the pictures those aren't scratches on the front of the tank but rather moisture between front and the blanket its laying on from all the rain lately. The scratches on the front and side truly are easily buffed out i did a small section and turned out good but not my thing. I would like to find someone who knows what their doing to just do whole tank.

can be fixed ......I would just replace that back panel if I were you and the euro bracing ....you could get away with fixing just the back panel but its going to take a 4x8 sheet to fix the back so you might as well do both.....I can help you replace them if you want but the buffing would be for you to do as I have a lg project that I'm working on and wont have the time for that....its easy just time consuming....

and while you are at it I would replace that overflow too with a coast to coast since its going to come out with the back

I would greatly appreciate the help and would love to fix it. Good idea about the overflow ill look into it ASAP. Do you know of a good local place to get the 4x8 sheet of acrylic? And what thickness, 1/2" or 3/4"? Is there anything else I would need? I don't want to waste your time by not being prepared so if I need stuff just let me know. Thanks
