Clown hosting....Algae?

I am watching my Percula Clown what looks to be trying to host the algae I have growing on the sides of my tank. It looks just like Clowns do when hosting anemones accept occasionally he will take a clump in his mouth and shake it. Since I just set up my sump, I am in the process of getting rid of the overgrowth of algae so it will be gone soon. If he is trying to host it, will he be ok if I take it all away?

On another note, if I scrape all of the algae out at once and remove it, will it affect my water parameters?

Hehe clowns have hosted much stranger things that that.

Should be no problem removing it all. Just think of it as nutrient export. The clowns will get over it. Especially if only one of them is doing it. You have a pair right? Sounds like they haven't hooked up yet, eh?

No they are lovers for sure! Together 99% of the time. When he was over hosting the algae last night, as soon as I shut the lights out she joined him for bedtime.
