i think i have a problem

I filled my aquarium with rodi water Monday, and this is what I had Tuesday, added salt Wednesday....thought it might kill whatever this is but it only got worse. I didn't bleach my sock filter and think that may have been what caused this, took the filter out....now what do I do. Im still waiting on my skimmer in the mail so hopefully that will help as soon as I hook it up. Any help or ideas would be grateful. I haven't bought any test kits yet so I can't tell u what my water parameters are.

looks like someone added detergent instead of salt? I have no advice, I'm a total nub, but that looks insane.

Is there sand in the tank yet? Either way, I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. Once you get the skimmer running it'll all end up in the collection cup.

How did you add the salt and what brand did you use?

Turned off the mag 7 and the powerheads poured the recommended amount of Red Sea Coral Pro then turned everything back on and let it mix itself. The water temp was 78 degrees at the time....it had already had the milk color and foam before the salt. I put a new 100 micron sock on and its starting to clear and the sock is turning brown after three hours. Who knows my two year old could have thrown something in the sump when I had my back turned.

Yep...numerous times when my back was turned to my grandson...he would throw something in my water mix. Kids really seem to have an infactuation with water at that age. My grandson is also 2 1/2. They are so wonderful though! He can also name every fish in the tank. They actually think they are helping you...don't quite understand the scientific equation of fish + water.
