I have recently set up my RSM250. i put 50lbs of fiji live rock in the tank about three and a half weeks ago. My nitrates have been as high as my testings will allow. I use the red sea tests and i cant get this damn tank to cycle.

One thing is that i am not using ro/di i am using tap. I KNOW !!!!! I m getting an ro/di system this week. I have turned my skimer off and my lights havent been on for more than 10 minutes.

salinty 1.025-1.026

What are your ammonia and nitrite levels looking like? If your nitrates are off-the-charts but the other two are zero, your cycle is actually done and you are in dire need of a water change (and it sounds like you're already on the RO/DI bandwagon, which can only help).

Did you use anything to cycle the tank? Ammonia? Raw shrimp? Or just the live rock die-off?

Three and a half weeks is not a long time in this hobby. Be patient. What are your test reading for ammonia and nitrite? Once you get your ro/di hooked up and your ammonia and nitrite are zero I would do large water changes until your nitrates are under control.
