Type of Lighting for a 40 Gallon tank

Ok every one I know this question has probably been asked a million times but here it goes. I am setting up a 40 Gallon rimless Reef SPS tank. I need to find a good type of lighting to use that is Energy Efficient and Cost effective. I have looked at T-5 but dont know too much about them and what size I will need for that tank. In the past I have used MH (2-250watt on a 125 display tank). I would like to know the best brands and type of lighting for what I need. The tank dimensions are: 36X18X16. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
