LED wiring series/parallel question

Hello,

I have a driver that outputs 1000ma and is capable of 24v forward voltage at this current. I have 6 1000ma rated leds, and 2 500ma rated leds (true violets). All things being equal, would it work to wire all 6 1000ma LEDs in series, as normal and then in series with that wtring, hook up the 2 500ma LEDs in parallel? I believe that this would still allow 1000ma to flow through all 6 1000ma leds, while splitting the current through the 2 500ma LEDs.

See highly technical diagram below for illustrative purposes:

POS------<=>NEG where '-''s are leds.

Thanks,
-shane

yes this is correct. I am however worried about 2 violet led's. it might not look very good.
