Draining is driving me ape balls!!!

Ok so the drain on my 40 is starting to drive me nuts. I was ok with it at first but now its becoming a pain. It gurgles air and no matter what I do its loud. I got it quiet for a week but cant get it quiet again. Its a durso style drain. One and the left and one on the right. 1 inch drains. The noisy one just plumbs to go straight down into the sump. I have teh drain capped and drilled. But the holes are covered cause its even louder of those are uncovered. The only thing i can think of to do is extend the drain deeper into the sump. I just checked and its just below the water surface in my sump. Help please.

flip the elbow down and put a hole on top of the pipe(end cap) in center where the blue tape is.

Turn the intake "90" to face down, put an airline in the hole that can be adjusted and play with that, either pushing it in or pulling it out.

Then if all else fails, slow the flow from the return.

Yeah pretty much. But the other side is like the first one is orginally. Why is that one so quiet? The elbow is facing up and has a hole drilled but no air tube

Not sure why you have 2 drains on a 40, but my guess is for whatever reason you get more flow to the noisy one, less flow to the quiet one doesnt cause the gurgling.
