Favia alive?

Is this alive?? I've never seen it look aNy different. Just started with corals so not sure what dead ones look like.

I'm no expert but it looks like it still has tissue on it so I would say it still looks alive. Does it put out feeders after the lights shut off?

Move it to a darker spot in the tank with less flow looks irritated.

How long has it been in your tank?

I've never really noticed it look any different even after the lights are out. Will it be a significant difference or just something small?

Also I just moved it to one of my other tanks right before I took that picture, I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough light in my big tank so I moved it to my tank with LED lighting.

It was in my other tank for like a month though.

I had the same issue with mine. I never could tell if it was dead or alive...so I gave it away.

If it was dead the flesh would start to fall off\peel away from the skeleton. Or start to lose color then show skeleton....

Also Favias\Favites don't really show much difference in appearance like Candy Canes\Trumpets, Torches, Frogspawns or even other brain corals. My watermelon has looked the same from the day i got it - it may puff every now and then when feeding but for the most part it looks the same all the time. Now my Trach coral is a different story...

Check it at night during feeding time....
