Just wondering what people thought of square tanks? Please share your opinions!

30" wide and 30" deep. 24" tall. 93 gallons. Does a cube tank have restrictions as far as livestock, given that it is not as long as a rectangular tank of the same volume?

it's the same as any other tank. What really matters is volume.
I just ordered that same dimension tank yesterday. |

The cube gives you a much deeper footprint to work with for your aquascape, and depending on how its set up, better viewing. |

I have had a 60g cube - 2x2x2 - since 1992 and love it. I used one very large piece of pumice and carved it into a reef with caves, overhangs, and swim throughs. Had to silicone it to the bottom because it turns out pumice floats.

I have a 93 gal cube,I just took out of service because I wasn't happy with stock stand it came with. Once I build a new stand thats a few inches taller so I can use a bigger skimmer I'll switch back to it. Keep mind that 30x30 can make for some very hard to reach places inside the tank and under the stand. If you keep your rock work in the center with swimming space all around it might be better than a 48" 90 for a small breed tang or such.

I really want one and have been wanting to upgrade for a while... Other option is a 60g cube (only because of affordability and my landlord would probably freak if he saw a near 100g on the hardwood!)... What do you think? Bite the bullet and go 93g?

I have a 60 cube right now and I like it just fine. Easier and cheaper to run just more limits on your fish.

I just set up a 70g square (30x30x18) and love it. The depth is amazing.
I have seen people have tangs, but i doubt ill put a tang in my tank. |
