What do you think of my 20k?

I just got a 150w 20k HQI lamp for my fixture. What do you guys think? I wanted something a little more blue. I had a 15k which was 100% white, and this might be more blue than I liked. Opinions? Keep or go back to 15k.

Lets see if this works

EDIT: nope, if anyone wants to embed the video thatd be cool. Not sure how.

I prefer the 20k (blue look). I don't get as much growth on my corals as when I used the 14k.

Nice tank!

It looks more purple than blue IMO. I'm using a 175 watt XM 20K bulb right now that looks exactly the same. I"ll probably end up going back to the Hamilton 14K I was running before.

You had a 15k bulb...That was 100% white?What brand was the 15k bulb?

Other than that, it looks pretty sharp!

Yes, it was an Odyssea. Probably just a cheap bulb. Here are some pics under the 15k light.

Nice tank!!

I think the color is about taste preference. My fixture came with 10K 150 watt MH plus actinic T5's. When it came time to replace them, I tried 14K MH's. It was too blue for me. It seemed to wash everything in a blue haze. The flourescent corals seemed to pop more, but I lost some of the subtle hues in the yellow and green coral. I went back to 10K, and there was a lot more color variety, at the cost of less pop with the florescent coral. Kind of an expensive way to find out what I liked better. I can only imagine what the even more blue 20K would look in my tank.

I really like it. I've always preferred just a hint of blue in the daytime lighting. You have a very nice tank, too.

Thanks! Rob I have had the Goni for about 3 months now. He's not even full extended there, it gets huge just before dusk.
