Curing Live Rock. Test results off the charts

So i got some live rock sent to me from Saltwaterfish and i'm in the process of curing it.

been in the curing container for 36 hours and i'm getting

Ammonia 1.0ppm
Nitrite 5.0+ppm
Nitrate 160+ppm

Is it normal for my tests to be off my charts like this so fast when curing live rock?

did you scrub it at all before going in the bucket? I'd do a wc.
