would a frozen bottle help keep temp down on a 29g

I have a 29g tank w/ sump, I would like to get a chiller but my space is limited. So I came up with an idea to keep a frozen bottle or container in the sump to keep the water temp close to where it should be, when i'm not home. I figure I have about 2 extra bottles in the freezer so when I get home from work I could swap out the melted one for a fresh frozen, same process before i go to bed(if needed). I do use my central air a lot when im home so the water temp is normal. What you guys think, about this?

I had thought about doing the same thing. I live in Alabama and dont run the AC during the day while I'm at work. I would be interested in hearing what this community has to say about it.

I keep a gallon jug in the freezer at all times, and drop it in my sump if my temp starts to creep up towards 82.

I use fans with controllers to keep my temps down. A cheap clip on fan will do wonders on keeping your tank temps down

I have a 29 gallon BioCube Hqi. I put a regular fan blowing towards the tank and made a screen lid. It lowers the temp quick you would be surprised.

Would you recommend a container that big for a 29 gal? H ow many gallons is your tank?

In the summer I use 7-11 double gulp cups ~half gallon each. I Fill them with RODI and freeze them in the freezer. I dont find it too difficult to get the giant ice cubes free from the cup and drop one or two at a time into my sump. Kill two birds with one stone. Keeping temps down (I also use fans in my sump) and as the cube melts it becomes top off water.
