Fish only stunner strips

Can i get away with ONLY 2-3 ecoxotic 48" stunner strip leds on a 48x24x16h tank.

Its a shallow tank an i will not be growing any plants or corals. Just want shimmer and fish color pop.

Will this be too dim? Will this grow unwanted algae?

Was thinking of a magneta/blue and a white/blue for a blueish white look but with red pop.

Any insight appreciated!!!

I think it will be fine, don't under estimate the power of LEDs. Go with 3 strips and make sure you get one with full actinics. I'm pretty sure with the proper placement you can grow some corals. Zoos and mushrooms don't require a lot, even in a fish only tank.

I had 3 36" stunners on my 55gal with some corals and a clam. They all were doing fine for months but very little growth. The 36" are bright and 48" may be more than you need for a fowlr. My stunners are f/s so pm me if interested.

Yes, They have really nice colors. That color combination should look really nice.
Keep in mind that three 48" strips would require you to get an additional power supply. So you could get two 48" stunners and then one 24" inch and then only need one power supply. Check their site for those details.

I know someone that runs 3 on one powersupply even though they know they are not supposed to. I was thinking of doing the same but with a dimmer on each of the 3 i should stay under the 60watt limit. That guy runs all 3 at full blast. So i guess that would be 72watts on a 60 watt max power supply. Ill take 50% power out of one of the strips or 50% total removed from all 3. Or just go with 2 strips.
