i cant believe i did that!!!

I was cleaning my sump and some of my hose clams had rust all over them.. at the time i used the clams i didnt think anything about it... I just change them out with plastic ones.. the question is what would that do to my tank if i didnt catch that in timne????

depends on what the clamps were made out of. could have copper.

I might run a poly filter for a week or two but if everything is looking ok then it is probably not a huge issues.

Were the hose clamps submerged or out of water? If they were out of the water, I wouldn't worry about it. If they were submerged, you might want to run a polyfilter, but it should be fine. Good thing is, you caught it and fixed it.
