So what happens to my snails and other..
algae eaters now that all the visible hair algae in my tank has literally vanished overnight? Are they gonna starve now? They appear to be roaming a lot more. Or is there stuff I can't see that can sustain them?
Honestly this never concerned me weeks ago when it seemed like my supply of algae was neverending. Now, I can't find any green algae anywhere. Should I unplug my GFO reactor?

Yes. And feed the poor things. You can toss in a few algae tablets (freshwater algae is ok or some frozen formula 2 cubes.

My snails go crazy over seaweed sheets, maybe spot feed a chunk or two every now and again, can buy a pack of 24 sheets for less than $10. One pack has lasted me over 3 months and I still have quite a few sheets left maybe 6-7.

Your snail population will drop to a sustainable level. Let it. Lesser of the two evils in my opinion.
