benefits of expensive denitrator vs cheap-o's
I usually run carbon in a bag in the sump and I was going to modify my setup a little. I was going to run rowaphos and carbon in reactors and I was thinking of using something similar to this $70 unit:
http://www.marinedepot.com/NextReef_...FRISCR-vi.html BUT, why the difference in price between the above unit and something like this one: http://www.marinedepot.com/Korallin_...FRISDN-vi.html The first is $70 while the later is about $366 - is there really a huge difference in performance that would justify the price difference?

Usually you have two different media reactors for carbon and Rowaphos. The Korillian is a Denitrate reactor that can be converted to a calcium reactor.

I was going to buy two of the cheap ones listed above, but I wasn't sure if there was something that would make the Korallin one worth it (I guess being able to be converted does explain it's extreme price difference)

http://www.avastmarine.com/ssc/do/product/MR-5 these are popular also. You usally don't use much of a GFO or carbon in a reactor so you do not need a very tall reactor but one that is easy to get the media in and out. I am not knocking the NextReef reactors I have one and like it a lot, just giving you another option nice thing there is a lot of competition and the price has come down a lot and the quality has gotten a whole lot better.
