How often are you in the sump?

title says it all...How often do you have to get into your sump? I will be running an Edge with a 10 gallon sump, but the kicker is my sump needs to go in the long ways into a cabinet and not a whole lot of room to work with. I saw an interesting design

which would give access to drain and return on the same end...is that design efficient?

some display the fuge. I would make the fuge chamber larger. You will want to add a sand bed and some rubble rock.

thats certainly efficient and space saving as long as all the equipment are contained and in the right working process

I look into the sump every day to make sure things look right. In there cleaning the skimmer every two days and changing socks every three days. You will eventually need access to all parts of the sump so you might want to consider adding it to the cabinet before you start. I'd also agree with hollister about making the fuge larger.

I'm in mine every day as well. I haven't gotten my auto top off set up in the mail yet so I top off manually. Also, the sock has to be changed every 2 or 3 days and the skimmer drained. I need to get the light on a timer as well.

I can make the fuge part larger as I dont think I will be running a skimmer, if I do, it may be the diy pop bottle variety.
