used sump

I recently was given a sump that i can use for my 75g. It's a 29g sump but it has some green algae in some spots and purple algae in some other spots. They're on the baffles which are acrylic. Would it be best for me to try to clean this off now or does it not matter? If so how would I clean it off?

Scrape it off with a sharp scraper blade. Cleaning it would be ideal. Should come off with water and scraping very easily.

Yes, clean it....you can also fill it with water and vinegar overnight. It should be easy to wipe off once soked(don't forget to rinse)...
