Could be dust from your sand if you have sand.

Why are you on the floor?

Snail spawning. Happened with my trochus snails two weeks ago. Two of them were crawling around spraying their "stuff" everywhere.

Is it constant or just once in a while?
If constant, I have no idea.
If you see puffs of "smoke" once in a while, something is spawning. Worms or snails.

lol nope no apartment and my rock is reefsaver. i have noticed this befor my snails. Maybe i didnt rinse off the rock enough. Even though its been in the tank for 5+ months and was sitting out in the rain when my tank was down for 3 days. Or could this be why my fish kept dieing? i will try posting a pic

Something in your tank is on fire. Put it out asap. I would use water.

Smoke on the Water? Are you using Deep Purple lighting? That is a pretty common result.

If you have life rock you have worms in the tank. Its a good thing. If I do a large cleaning and water change my snails will spawn and when they do it looks like white smoke is coming out of them, its the sperm and eggs they are releasing. A smoky look to that water can also be from a bacteria bloom.
