My canister filter have inlet out let (adjustable) .. can i low the flow using them

My canister filter have adjustable inlet out let ..can i low them to slow the flow of the current ...
my filter is RESUN EF-1600 its huge for my tank .. but its doing well

Yes, you can restrict the flow on the outlet, never the inlet.

But is it really too much? What do you run in the canister?

What do you run in the canister? __________________ 43 gallon skimmerless setup with Eheim 1250 canister filter (running carbon, GFO, Purigen) and two Tunze 6105 on a Tunze 7096 controller, lit by 4x24W T5, topped of by Tunze Osmolator.
