Growth Control
This has been spreading to the rocks beside. I would like to control it before it gets out of control. My idea is that at night, when it has receded, each head is exposed and I want to try to rip the head off the rock and syphon it out. My concern is that I will pollute the tank if the syphon doesn't get everything. Is this a legitimate concern or just do it?

Nice! So when it dies it won't pollute the tank?

You can frag it and trade it for LFS credit.

Or sell it on CL. One that large you might be able to get 30-40 for it via CL. They glow nice under blue at night, and are good for a newcomer (hardy).

If I frag it - I have to break some of the rock off - one of my favorite shelves (haha). I guess making some aquascaping changes would be good and help the tank "evolve".

Yeah, for some reason hairy mushrooms normally do not come cheap. You could definately get some cash/credit for those guys. If you take the rock out of the tank you may be able to chisel it off the rock with minimal damage to your rock.

I can take some off your hands you can try placing frag plugs near shrooms and wait till they start growing on them...i belive you can scrap them off and glue them...as long as mouth isnt cut off...but serious ill take some!!! Lol

I like the idea of placing frag puck and letting it grow on to it. I'm sure it would work. To give you some in Texas, I wish I was there - then I wouldn't have to shovel snow......
