Reactor problem

I have a Reef Octopus PHR-100 Phosphate Reactor which I use for both Aluminium oxide and GAC...There is a black sponge above the bottom plastic plate of the reactor. When I turned on my reactor today, the sponge tumbled and the Phosguard slipped into the bottom part of the reactor through the tiny holes in the bottom plastic plate. How to get those out?..Please help
