Turboflotor T1000 mods
I'm trying to see what everybody else has been doing to improve the effectiveness of their turboflotor?
I'm running an Oceanrunner 3700 pump with a mesh modded impeller. I have the skimmer all the way out of the water, fed from the overflow with the down-spouts extended and run under the skimmer to the back. I am also running the venturi with a restrictor valve and a second port fed directly into the pump horizontally by a whisper 40 air pump. It was very difficult to dial in the two together but now I get a full cup of nasty black crud every other day. I would like to find a way to jam more air into this thing without the pump losing its prime and air locking the flow. I believe that the best way to do that is going to be to run the inlet of the pump directly into the skimmer and make a short PVC elbow for the injection into the skimmer. This is going to be my next mod. Right now I have the needle wheel pump below the skimmer for the sake of room constraints but I am redesigning my sump to accommodate. What is everybody else doing? I know some people are running extended necks and I would like to know how they got enough air in there to warrant it. Pics: [IMG][/IMG] |
