Want to add actinic supplement to my Radiums

My tank is a standard 120gal I'm running 2 250w radiums in luminarc minis and would like to add some actinic pop to the tank want to use a LED strip should I go with reefbrights 48" I would like some thing controllable as to not add to much blue. I have a apex controller so would a DIY be the way to go since I don't think reefbrites are controllable

I have the same setup as you, 2 radiums that are 250w on a four foot long 120 gallon tank. I supplement mine with a reefbrite 48in. all blue strip and it adds that actinic pop to the tank. That's what I'd recommend if you're like me and not really crazy about DIY fixtures and just want a nice clean finished product.

I have a similar tank and run similar halides (phoenix) and diy'd my led setup controlled with the apex. I would recommend it. It fades in via the apex in the morning and its pretty cool. I have 12 xpe rb leds and its on a aluminum u channel. I would say its noticeable, but if I really wanted some pop I would go with 24 leds. It was a pretty easy project and very nice results.

I plan on adding the 24 led dimmable strip from aquastyle to my 90 gallon with 2x 250w Phoenix 14k bulbs. It is $99 and I plan on just mounting it to aluminum u-channel from a local hardware store.

tagging along. I just switched back from LEDs to a radium on an M80 reeflex ballast and its a bit too white, a bit disapointed. I put the LED fixture with just the blues on and the color was AMAZING. I think I might put a blue LED strip or 2 on there.

I still think the best looking tanks run Radiums with UVL Superactinic and UVL 454 VHO's as supplement.
