Apex Question
I do have the Unofficial Apex User Guide but am a bit confused as to how to access my Apex info from another computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to be a little more specific, what part are you having trouble with
1 setting your apex to static IP 2 configuring your routes port forwarding so web server is pointed at the static IP of your Apex 3 Setting up Dynamic DNS so you can access that IP address from an outside location |

OK, so the static IP actually has to be set at the APEX, in the APEX network configuration there is a place to turn off the DHCP and then add a static IP address as well as subnet and gateway is needed.
Which router do you have, different brands call port forwarding different things sometimes. |

I have a netgear wireless router but I am not using wireless, my apex is wired into the back of the wireless router which is wired to a modem (modem only has 1 ethernet plugin so this is what I had to do to be able to plug my computer into it at the same time and it gives me the ability to connect to the network with my computer wirelessly)

I set it up in my router Start Port: 80, End Port: xxxx and put in the IP Address for my Apex for server IP Address. Now my internet with this router doesn't even want to work. What am I doing wrong here? I can't reverse those Start Port and End Port numbers because it says start port has to be lower than end port so I know that isn't the issue (I am using 4 digits for the end port). Please help with this issue
Thank you in advance |

can you screen print your routers web page?
...anyway, there is usually a specific page for port fwd...make sure you didn't mess with the port fwd for a "application" for your computers IP address (thats actually easy to screw up) if it were me, I'd use 81 and end in 81, and make sure the IP cooresponds to the Apex ...you might also "open" port 25 in your DMZ for whatever that same Apex IP is (I say this tenativley as I have no clue how your firewall or security is setup)
