Congrats, my pair of Gold band maroons lay eggs for me pretty regularly. It's too bad I can't raise the eggs. You should have some extra fish and coral food soon!

Thanks! I plan to add a maternity net on the sump and wait for them to hatch to get them with a siphon and then add them there... Hopefully I will have some little guys growing there

you have to get a phyto/roti lab going because they will need something to eat. Talk to Marke here to set you up or if you are in miami, there is this place in bird rd that has tons of it plus clown fish

i can tell you that it's not easy. You need to siphon those eggs out when they are changing colors and at the last stage, siphon and put them into the sump and as soon as they hatched, introduce rotis in there (live ones are always the best and to keep rotis nutritious, you need to keep feeding them phyto) and you need to feed them often.
First week is crucial and once they live through that, you are pretty much in the safe zone.

marke from here is very knowledgeable guy, pm him to find out more about roti/phytos.
Mark - sorry for volunteering your services lol.

Thanks guys for your replies! I was kind of busy these days so I wasn't able to check on Marke or Miguel for this so I will have to improvise this time...

Ok Guys, tonight or at the most tomorrow night I expect the Clowns to hatch.... I read lots about how to take care of them, most of them in separate tanks...

I don't want to have 2 tanks, the RSM 650 plus a breed tank so I thought about using the Sump

The left side area on the RSM 650 sump is pretty big and the usage is minimal, right now the only thing I have there is chaeto and the return hoax from my chiller so I thought... why not use it for breeding?

The sump area was perfect.... no PH, Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates changes when moving them there, water quality would be exactly the same... The main problem was flow, the flow could take the little clownfish to the filter zone and then be hold there or sucked by the main pump. So I looked for options... and found one.

A Tank Divider.. If you ever plan or need to divide your RSM 650 sump like me... there is a Tank Divider that fits exactly!! Penn-Plax Tank Divider.. the one that measures 11 3/8" x 17 1/2"

That tank divider will make part of my sump to have a minimal flow because of the small holes it has.

Now, just as a safety measure I added a Penn- Plax Net Breeder which will hold the little guys the first days... I will add an air pump with an air stone there so there will be movement and oxigen

Well, this is my setup, I will let you know if it was successful and if this way the RSM 650 can be used as breeder

I have also got roti and plan t add a dosing pump scheduling feeding each 4 hours

Also my clowns layed eggs and my damsels also for about 2 months and I've never seen any. I think the other fish eat the eggs or something happens but Good luck!
