New Mandarin is extremely shy
Hey everyone,
Like i said in the title i recently (5 days ago) got a Green Mandarin from LA. She is extremely shy and stays in the rock work all day. So much so in fact, i look for her for a good 5-10 minutes every time i feed all the fish.(3 times a day) If im lucky i will see her for only 4-5 minutes hiding in the rock once a day. What scares me, however is that out of all the times Ive observed her Ive only seen her eat one off the rocks once. And if my memory serves me correctly shouldnt she be eating aprox every 5 seconds? shes not wasting away but shes not fat. Am i being nervous or should i be worried? I just want to be proactive. Thanks in advance! Sincerely, Michael R Ps. anyone know a way to encourage it to come out a little more?

well it seems to be hit or miss with these as far as what they will eat.
i would possibly consider switching this fish to some sort of qt, and test with various live, then frozen, and hopefully flake foods. |
