PSK 1000 Noise

I have a ATB 840V2 and a CS1 Pegleg by Avast, Both of which use a Sicce PSK1000 pump. Both of these skimmer pumps are very loud. I have tried running them at the different depths that the manufacturers state. I've put silicone feet and rubber padding along the bottoms of the skimmers and pumps. I've increased hose lengths that connects the skimmer body to the pumps all in an effort to decrease the noise.
The noise doesn't sound like a vibration, and it's not from the draw of air into the skimmers, I've connected both mufflers in series when running each skimmer. The noise is more of a deep humming, almost grinding, phonetically typed it's "errrrrrrrrrrrrrr" I don't know how else to describe it. I am losing patience with both skimmers and sicce in general. Both of my PSK 1000s are louder then my Mag 18 return pump.
Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance,
Jack

How old are the pumps? If less than a year, they should be covered under warranty. I had to return for a refund, a Sicce Syncra 4 due to the noise it created. They did not have parts here in the states, and I was fed up with the back and forth of it. I hope this is not the case with you.

I have a ATB mikro (PSK600)and the air sucking noise is present even with a muffler for sure. I have this tank in my bedroom and is noticeable but not tragically bad. I'm not sure you can completely get rid of it. I was at my buddy's house and he has a 840V2 and I could not hear it at all. It was in 8" of water.

I agree with wildman. I had a Syncra return pump that was pretty noisy and I switched to a Tunze pump and it was dead silent. Weird thing is that they look exactly alike.

The noise from the air being sucked in is not the problem it's the loud noise from the pump. I'll give ATB a call and see what they say. I just don't understand why two PSK 1000s would be so noisy. Maybe I'm just lucky.
