ORP won't go past 260

Just got my new ozone reactor.

Currently I'm pumping 200mg/hr into my Avast Marine Ozone reactor powered by a Maxijet 1200. For some reason my ORP is not going past 260/266 mgh..

My Orp Probe is about a year old and I should clean it up a little bit. My ozone generators been running all night and it dosen't seem to be getting it done.

A Few possible reasons I'm thinking

1. The Ozone is injected into the Reactor by a Tetra pump which is supposed to pressurize the chamber a little bit. Only a minimal amount of water is supposed to be in the chamber and in the very bottom. I'm thinking because the water isn't directly interacting with the ozone gas the way it would in a skimmer the measurable ORP is less.

2. Perhaps the Maxijey 1200 is not strong enough to pressureize the chamber. Avast reccomends a Mag3 which is 350gph and a Maxijet 1200 is only 295.

3. Bad Probe? It could be that the probe is bad and i should invest in a new one.

At 200 mgm/hr you are really pumping some O3....you could end up in a world of hurt if this amount is getting into your air or your tank.

If your ORP is not rising, then you have a bad probe or your O3 is just escaping to atmosphere....and that is dangerous to you in these sort of amounts.

Back it off and quickly find out what the real problem is. OZONE is dangerous to both you and your tank inhabitants if used in excess.

the main difference between a mag3 and a maxi1200 is the pressure produced. a maxi will barely produce enough pressure to flow the 295gph whereas the mag will create much more and actually pressurize your reactor

I second Heliman, your probe is bad, stop the ozone immediately!
